When beauty was born the sun rose slow,
the day ahead began to glow.
When beauty arrived the birds did sing,
the air alive, my ears did ring.
When beauty dawned upon the morn,
the earth woke up and began to warm.
When beauty stirred in breathless calm,
a shock ran out with wild alarm.
For beauty was too much you see,
for these plain eyes to even believe,
that such a boy could ever be born,
to rise aglow upon the dawn.
And so we turned our back to him,
no way his beauty would ever win.
To us he was too much you see,
in beauty we did never believe.
