I thought of you and thought to trust,

Game

This morning I woke

with puppy pokes

and launched

upon the floor.

Grabbed my gear

and whistled for dogs

as I sailed

right out the door.

A stifled yawn,

a sudden stretch,

I prepare for another day.

It's time to play,

it's Saturday,

get ready for the GAME!

Two sides to me

Can you see two sides to me?

Do you see my mask?

Can you see what I may be?

You only have to ask.

Buttoned down and scrubbed quite clean,

to school I proudly stride.

Come the dusk and starlit night,

my true self can not hide.

I am to some the perfect son,

a scholastic, sporty boy.

I am all that and more you see,

I like to have my joy.

So grade me not as what you see,

set your thoughts apart.

Then you'll see that side of me,

the essence of my heart.

Stare

I sit and stare 

at the gold plated ear 

of the statue beside the lake. 

I wait and I hope 

if given enough rope 

my heart will cease to ache.

I wonder at night 

and try as I might 

to bring back the dawn of the day. 

Our love was so strong 

it's we who belong 

together, once more, I do pray. 

For you and I know 

our love does still grow 

it's taken a different path. 

Now we can rest 

and be at our best 

once more we have learned to laugh.

Love surfing

Trapped amid a sea of blue, my thoughts do fly, they think of you.

I think of how you used to laugh, your smiling eyes, my other half.

We came together and were as one, but then our love became undone.

We took for granted the love we held, our thoughts entwined, a lovers meld.

And then we suddenly flew apart, the pain of which did burst my heart.

But once again we've learned to laugh, you are my friend, let's never part.
